In Genesis 3:20-21 of the King James Version of the Bible, it is written, “And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living. Unto Adam also and to his wife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and clothed them.”
In these verses, we see the aftermath of Adam and Eve’s sin in the Garden of Eden. Despite their disobedience and the consequences they faced, God showed compassion and provision by making garments of skins to cover the shame of their nakedness. This act of grace demonstrated God’s care for His creation, even in their fallen state.
The naming of Eve as the mother of all living symbolizes the beginning of humanity and the promise of redemption through her descendants. The act of clothing Adam and Eve not only protected them physically but also symbolized God’s covering of their sin and shame.
These verses serve as a reminder of God’s love and mercy towards His people, even in their moments of disobedience. It shows that God’s grace is always present, ready to offer forgiveness and provision to those who turn to Him in repentance.
