In Revelation 20:13-14, it describes a scene where the sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades also gave up the dead that were in them. Each person was judged according to what they had done. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This lake of fire is the second death. This passage speaks to the final judgment where all individuals are held accountable for their actions during their life on earth. It signifies the culmination of God’s justice and the separation of the righteous from the wicked. The lake of fire symbolizes eternal punishment for those who have rejected God, while the righteous are rewarded with eternal life. It serves as a reminder of the consequences of sin and the importance of living a life in accordance with God’s will.
