Joseph’s interpretation saves Egypt’s grain.

In Genesis 41:17 KJV, Pharaoh had a troubling dream that troubled him deeply. In his dream, he saw seven fat cows being devoured by seven lean cows, and seven healthy ears of corn being consumed by seven withered ears of corn. Pharaoh sought for an interpretation of this puzzling dream, turning to his wise men and magicians, but none were able to provide an explanation.

It was then that Pharaoh’s chief butler remembered Joseph, a Hebrew man who had accurately interpreted his dream while in prison. Joseph was brought before Pharaoh, who recounted his dream to him. Joseph did not take credit for the interpretation, but acknowledged that God would provide an answer.

Joseph explained that the dream signified seven years of plenty, followed by seven years of famine. He advised Pharaoh to appoint a wise and discerning man to oversee the storing of grain during the years of abundance in order to prepare for the coming famine. Impressed by Joseph’s wisdom and insight, Pharaoh appointed him as second in command over all of Egypt.

This passage illustrates the power of God and the importance of seeking wisdom when facing challenges. It also highlights Joseph’s humility and faith in God’s guidance, ultimately leading to his exaltation from prisoner to ruler.
