And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son. And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.
In Genesis 30:5-6 in the King James Version of the Bible, we see the story of how Bilhah, Rachel’s servant, conceived and gave birth to a son for Jacob. This son was named Dan, and Rachel saw this as a sign that God had judged her favorably and heard her prayers. It was a moment of joy and gratitude for Rachel, as she had been struggling with infertility while her sister Leah had already borne several sons to Jacob.
This passage highlights the theme of God’s blessings and faithfulness, even in times of difficulty. It shows how prayer and trust in God can lead to miracles and answered prayers, as seen in Rachel’s joy at finally having a child of her own. It is a reminder that God hears the cries of his people and is always faithful to fulfill his promises.
