And he said to him, “Go, I pray thee, see whether it be
well with thy brethren, and well with the flocks; and bring me word
again.” So he sent him out of the vale of Chevron, and he came to Shechem.
In this Bible verse, Jacob instructs his son, Joseph, to go and check on his brothers and the flock. This simple command sets in motion a series of events that will change the course of Joseph’s life. Little did Joseph know that his obedience to his father’s request would result in him being sold into slavery by his jealous brothers.
