In Genesis 27:22-23, Isaac, who was blind and old, was deceived by his son Jacob. Jacob, disguised as his brother Esau, brought his father the meat and bread that Rebekah, his mother, had prepared. Isaac questioned how it was possible for Jacob to return so quickly with the food. Jacob responded by saying that the Lord had helped him. Jacob then approached Isaac, who felt his hands and smelled his clothing, believing him to be Esau due to the smoothness of his skin. Although Isaac was suspicious, he ultimately blessed Jacob, thinking he was blessing Esau. This event highlights the consequences of deception and the importance of honesty. It serves as a reminder that deception may bring temporary gain but can ultimately lead to problems and discord within a family.
