Marilyn Monroe was a famed American actress, model, and singer who became an iconic figure in popular culture during the 1950s and early 1960s. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, Monroe had a difficult childhood and spent much of her youth in foster homes and orphanages.

Monroe began her career as a pin-up model, gaining popularity for her beauty and charisma. She soon transitioned into acting and became one of Hollywood’s biggest stars, known for her roles in films such as “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes,” “Some Like It Hot,” and “The Seven Year Itch.”

Despite her success, Monroe struggled with personal demons, including mental health issues, addiction, and tumultuous relationships. She tragically died of a drug overdose on August 5, 1962, at the age of 36.

Monroe’s legacy endures, as she remains an enduring symbol of beauty, glamour, and vulnerability. Her influence on fashion, film, and popular culture continues to be felt to this day, and she is remembered as one of the greatest icons of the 20th century.
