Marilyn Monroe, born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, was an iconic American actress, model, and singer. She became one of the most popular sex symbols of the 1950s, known for her blonde hair, curvaceous figure, and breathy voice. Monroe starred in numerous successful films, including “Some Like It Hot,” “The Seven Year Itch,” and “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.”

Despite her glamorous image, Monroe faced personal struggles throughout her life. She experienced a difficult childhood, bouncing between foster homes and orphanages. She also dealt with mental health issues, including depression and anxiety. Monroe’s marriages to Joe DiMaggio and Arthur Miller were highly publicized and ended in divorce.

Tragically, Marilyn Monroe’s life was cut short when she died of a barbiturate overdose on August 4, 1962, at the age of 36. Her death was ruled a probable suicide, though conspiracy theories have surrounded the circumstances. Despite her untimely passing, Monroe’s legacy as a cultural and fashion icon continues to endure.
