God’s recipe for holy anointing oil

In Exodus 30:33-37 of the New Living Translation, God gives specific instructions to Moses regarding the incense that is to be burned in the Tabernacle. The ingredients for this sacred incense include equal parts of stacte, onycha, galbanum, and pure frankincense. These ingredients are to be mixed together and used exclusively for the purpose of burning incense before the Lord.

God warns that this particular blend of incense is holy and should not be duplicated for personal use. Anyone who tries to recreate this sacred incense for their own pleasure will be cut off from the community. This emphasizes the importance of respecting and honoring the sacred practices and items designated by God for worship.

These verses serve as a reminder to the Israelites of the significance of the Tabernacle and the rituals performed within it. They are meant to approach the Lord with reverence and humility, understanding the sacredness of His presence. By following these instructions diligently, the Israelites demonstrate their obedience and devotion to God.
