God’s name revealed: I AM

In Exodus 3:14 of the King James Version of the Bible, God reveals Himself to Moses as “I Am that I Am.” This profound statement highlights God’s eternal and unchanging nature. It signifies that God is self-existent and self-sufficient, with no need for a creator or sustainer.

When God identifies Himself as “I Am that I Am,” He is proclaiming His sovereignty and omnipotence. He is declaring that He is the ultimate source of existence, the one who has always been and will always be. This revelation instills in Moses a sense of reverence and awe for the greatness of God.

The significance of this divine name extends beyond the encounter between God and Moses. It serves as a reminder to all believers of God’s eternal presence and unchanging nature. It reassures us that amidst the uncertainties of life, God remains constant and steadfast, always there to guide and protect us. The revelation of God as “I Am that I Am” invites us to trust in His sovereignty and rest in His unchanging love and care.
