And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a burial place amongst you.

In these verses from the book of Genesis, Abraham is seeking a burial place for his wife Sarah. He is speaking to the sons of Heth and asking them to intercede on his behalf with Ephron to purchase the cave of Machpelah as a burial site. Abraham shows an understanding of the importance of honoring the dead, as well as respect for the land and its rightful owner. He is willing to pay a fair price for the burial site and seeks to make arrangements in a proper and respectful manner. This passage demonstrates the values of respect, propriety, and honoring the deceased that are important in many cultures and religions.
