And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them, That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. In these verses from the book of Genesis, it is described how the human population was growing and expanding on the earth. As more and more people came into existence, the sons of God – believed by some to be fallen angels or divine beings – noticed the beauty of the human women and chose them as their wives. This union between the divine and mortal beings led to significant consequences, as detailed in the following verses. The intermingling of these two groups ultimately played a role in shaping the world as we know it today. These verses provide a glimpse into the mysterious and complex relationships between heaven and earth, divine and mortal, and the impact they have on the course of human history.
