Expulsion of the Canaanites & Amorites

In Numbers 21:31-35, the Israelites were victorious in battle against the king of Arad and his people. They took possession of the cities and the surrounding area, renaming the land Hormah. This victory was a testament to the strength and faithfulness of God, who had promised to give the Israelites victory over their enemies.

However, their success was not without challenge. The Israelites faced resistance from the king of Edom, who refused to let them pass through his land. Despite their attempts to negotiate, the king of Edom remained steadfast in his decision. As a result, the Israelites were forced to take a longer route around Edom, enduring a more difficult journey.

This passage serves as a reminder that even in times of victory, there may still be obstacles and challenges to overcome. It is a testament to the perseverance and faith of the Israelites as they continued to trust in God’s plan, even when faced with adversity.
