Marilyn Monroe was an iconic symbol of beauty, sexuality, and Hollywood glamour in the 1950s. Born Norma Jeane Mortenson on June 1, 1926, in Los Angeles, California, Monroe’s early life was marked by turmoil and instability. She struggled with a difficult childhood, bouncing between foster homes and orphanages, before eventually finding success as a model and actress.

Monroe’s breakout role came in the 1950 film “All About Eve,” but it was her performance in “Gentlemen Prefer Blondes” in 1953 that catapulted her to superstar status. With her signature platinum blonde hair, hourglass figure, and breathy voice, Monroe captured the hearts of audiences around the world.

Despite her on-screen success, Monroe’s personal life was turbulent. She had three failed marriages, including to baseball legend Joe DiMaggio and playwright Arthur Miller. She also battled with addiction and mental health issues throughout her life.

Tragically, Monroe’s life was cut short when she died of a drug overdose on August 5, 1962, at the age of 36. Despite her untimely death, Monroe’s legacy as a cultural icon and Hollywood legend continues to endure to this day. Her films, such as “Some Like It Hot” and “The Seven Year Itch,” are still celebrated for their charm and charisma, and Monroe herself remains an enduring symbol of beauty and grace.
