In Genesis 18:6, we see Abraham preparing a meal for three visitors who came to visit him. The Bible describes the scene in detail, depicting Abraham hastening to Sarah to ask her to quickly prepare cakes from fine flour. He then runs to the herd and chooses a calf to be tenderly cooked. Abraham’s urgency and diligence in preparing the meal for his guests reflects his hospitality and respect for them. This passage showcases the importance of demonstrating hospitality towards others, even when unexpected visitors arrive. It teaches us to be generous and welcoming to all, as we never know when we may be entertaining angels unaware. As Christians, we are encouraged to follow Abraham’s example of hospitality and kindness towards others, as it can lead to blessings beyond our imagination. This passage serves as a reminder for us to always be ready to show love and hospitality to those around us.
