In Exodus 4:9, Moses is given a sign by God to show the people of Israel that he has been chosen to lead them out of Egypt. The verse says: “And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.”
This sign was a demonstration of God’s power and authority over the natural elements. It was meant to convince the Israelites that Moses was indeed sent by God and that they should trust him to lead them to freedom. The transformation of water into blood was a powerful and miraculous event that would have undoubtedly left a lasting impression on the people.
This verse serves as a reminder of the importance of faith and trust in God’s plan. It shows that God is able to perform miracles and wonders to strengthen the faith of his people and demonstrate his power.
